Police Searching for Suspect After Fatal Shooting in Wheeling

WHEELING – A person died in a shooting early Saturday in Wheeling, and investigators are now searching for the homicide suspect.
Wheeling police said they were called to Mac’s Club at 89 Edgington Lane about 2 a.m. after multiple gunshots were fired inside the business.
When officers and paramedics arrived, they found an unresponsive person with a gunshot wound. The unidentified victim was taken to Wheeling Hospital, where the person was pronounced dead, police said.
Several other people inside the business suffered minor injures, police said.
Police described the suspect as a black man in his mid-20s or early 30s with short hair. He is about 5-foot-6 and weighs about 150 pounds, police said.
About two hours later, police were called to North Erie Street for a report of gunshots being fired. Investigators do not know if the two incidents are related.
