WHEELING — The suspect wanted in the fatal shooting at a Wheeling club earlier this month turned himself into authorities Sunday afternoon.
Darrell Glenn Lesane Jr., 27, of Wheeling, is accused in the June 13 shooting death of Donaven White while at Mac's Club on Edgington Lane, Wheeling police said.
Lesane is being held at the Northern Regional Jail while awaiting arraignment by an Ohio County magistrate, police said. No bond has been set.
Investigators last Monday filed an arrest warrant charging Lesane with murder. It was not clear late Sunday whether Lesane had a lawyer.
White, 24, of Coshocton, Ohio, died in the early-morning shooting, and several other people at the club suffered injuries.
Wheeling city officials are beginning to take steps to declare Mac's Club at 89 Edgington Lane a public nuisance, and owner of the establishment has indicated that he has no intention to reopen.
