Ohio County Virtual Lions Club Position Flags

More than a dozen members of the Ohio County Virtual Lions Club positioned 75 American flags on the front lawn of the Oglebay Mansion Museum Wednesday as part of their “Flags for Heroes” display for the Fourth of July holiday. Each flag is sponsored by someone who wants to recognize their hero and has a tag with the name of an individual or group who is either military or a “front-line” worker in the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic, according to a spokesperson with the organization. The flag project was first placed in front of the mansion on Memorial Day weekend has grown in size from 50 flags to 75 flags. The Lions Club plan to place the flags in front of the mansion on September 11 and Veterans Day. For those who wish to recognize their hero and sponsor a flag, they can visit ohiocountyvirtuallions.org and click on the Flags for Heroes link, or call 304-370-4902.
