WHEELING -- The Health Plan Board of Directors voted to formally appoint Jeff Knight as its president and chief operating officer effective immediately.
Knight had been serving as the interim president/COO since December 2019. He has been with The Health Plan for more than 22 years, serving as its chief financial officer for the past 11 years.
Knight will continue to oversee the day-to-day operations of the company and work closely with executive management and the board of directors.
"Jeff has demonstrated strong leadership and vision during this transition period. We are fortunate to have someone of Jeff's caliber and experience step up to lead The Health Plan," said John Wright, The Health Plan's chairman of the board.
Knight replaces Jim Pennington who stepped down last year after serving The Health Plan since 2014.
