Following COVID cases, Wheeling Park High School will do online learning Monday and Tuesday
Ohio County Schools’ administrators Friday said that students at Wheeling Park High School will continue remote learning next week at least through Tuesday, as five students and at least one staff member have tested positive for COVID-19 during the past week.
Another 50 students and staff have been quarantined this week, as well. Ohio County Assistant Superintendent Rick Jones informed The Intelligencer of the remote learning schedule Friday.
Wheeling Park students spent this week at home doing remote learning as the school and the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department worked through contact tracing on all cases, and awaited test results.
Jones said remote learning Monday and Tuesday, along with the county’s regularly scheduled remote learning Wednesday, will give administrators and public health officials time next week to assess how to approach Thursday and Friday learning options.
