Marshall County still red, Ohio County still orange on daily COVID alert map
As COVID-19 positive numbers continue to climb in Marshall and Ohio counties, those counties remained at levels that would continue to keep school students on remote learning.
Marshall County was “red” on Thursday’s daily COVID alert map from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, while Ohio County remained “orange.” Those counties had those same designations Wednesday, as well as on last Saturday’s school openings map from the West Virginia Department of Education. If the counties remain those colors on this Saturday’s WVDE map, they must remain on remote learning.
Marshall County had an infection rate of 109.96 and a percent positivity of 10.29 on the Thursday map, a significant jump from Wednesday’s report. Marshall had an infection rate of 98.26 and a percent positivity of 9.41 that day. Ohio County had an infection rate of 89.00 and a percent positivity of 5.97 on Thursday’s map, a jump from its 79.00 infection rate and 5.32 percent positivity on Wednesday’s map.
