Mound View Reports 54 Positive Covid-19 Cases

2 min read

Mound View, a senior living facility in Moundsville, reported 54 positive COVID-19 cases among its 95 current patients, according to the Stonerise Healthcare, which operates the facility.

"We are seeing increases across nearly all our facilities," Stonerise spokesperson Ann Ali said Friday. "We believe it is due, in part, to the community spread throughout Ohio and West Virginia."

As of 2 p.m. Friday, the Department of Health and Human Resources' COVID-19 dashboard had not updated its long-term care database to reflect those new positives. The data on that site as of Friday afternoon reflected numbers through Nov. 5. According to the site, numbers are updated every Friday.

Stonerise's company website, which houses its own database for COVID-19 cases within its facilities, updates daily at 10:30 a.m.

According to Stonerise, Mound View administrators have continually updated their patients and their families, as well as care partners and health officials.

"Our focus continues to be serving our patients with love while we protect them, along with our team members," Stonerise Chief Executive Officer Larry Pack said.

Patients who test positive for COVID-19 are kept completely separate from those who have tested negative, the company said. All Stonerise team members continue to use personal protective equipment and follow infection control policies in line with current guidance. Additional staff will be brought in and the West Virginia National Guard also will help at Mound View.

All Stonerise facilities are currently closed to visitors. For updates on COVID-19 cases at Stonerise facilities, visit stonerisehealthcare.com/location-status.
