By more than 500 votes, Republican Zach Abraham has defeated longtime Democratic Ohio County commissioner Tim McCormick to win a seat on the commission.
Abraham will join Republican Don Nickerson to form the first GOP majority on the commission in more than two decades.
The final vote total, according to the unofficial numbers, is 9,932 votes for Abraham to 9,416 votes for McCormick.
McCormick is completing his 24th year on the board.
