Local police agencies gather for ‘Operation Toy Lift’

1 min read

Belmont County sheriff's deputies, Wheeling police officers and several other volunteers accept donations from motorists visiting Operation Toy Lift on Saturday afternoon. The drive through-style event, held in the former Sears parking lot at the Ohio Valley Mall in St. Clairsville, allowed donors to simply drive up and hand new, unwrapped toys or monetary donations out the window of the vehicle, or they could have volunteers pick up the donations from their trunk of the car or bed of the truck. All donations will benefit less fortunate children in the local area, distributed by the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley. This marks the fourth year for the cooperative effort among local first responders.
