The Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department on Friday announced another set of vaccination clinics for residents age 80 and older. The state is pushing to inoculate as many residents in that age range as it can as soon as it can.
The new round of clinics will be held Jan. 15-16 and Jan. 18-19, each day from 9 a.m.-12:10 p.m. with appointments every 10 minutes. The clinics will be held at the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department at the City/County Building, 1500 Chapline Street in Wheeling. Vaccinations will happen by appointment, and those interested in booking a time can call 304-234-3798 starting 8:30 a.m. Monday.
Once all appointments have been made, that phone line will not be answered nor will any further appointments be taken. The department asks that residents not call the department's main number at 304-234-3682, as this is used for routine department business.
Those with appointments should bring a photo ID, including proof of age and residency. Arriving early to your appointment is not necessary.

The Marshall County Health Department reported 10 new confirmed positive cases and 17 new probable cases. That brings the county's totals to 1,869 confirmed cases, 441 probable cases, six hospitalizations and 53 associated deaths.

There were 41 total counties on Friday's map in "red," 13 more in "orange," the map's second-highest-risk category, and one in "gold," a step lower than "orange" in severity.
