One Taken to Hospital After Fire at East Wheeling Home

Wheeling firefighters spent much of Sunday afternoon battling a blaze at a residence on the 1100 block of Lane H, between Cherry Street and McColloch Street in East Wheeling. Fire crews were called out around 3:30 p.m. The Wheeling Fire Department later said two occupants escaped the building and one was later taken to the hospital. The house was deemed a total loss, and fire department investigators are working to determine the cause.
