Downtown Wheeling Water Line Work Inches North

1 min read

Crews with Pro Contracting Incorporated of Lost Creek continue working on the city of Wheeling's nearly year-long waterline replacement project in the downtown area this week. Crews are pictured replacing old sections of cast iron waterline that was installed in the 1880s near the intersection of 14th and Market Street. Over the coming months, the project is scheduled to continue along Market Street up to 10th Street, move across 10th Street to Main Street, before eventually moving down Main Street back to 16th Street. The work is scheduled to take place 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekly, Monday through Thursday, with Friday being used as an inclement weather day, through January 31, 2022. Motorists should expect lane changes and detours around the construction area. (Photo by Scott McCloskey)
