WHEELING -- A Marshall County man was killed in a motorcycle crash involving a pickup truck on Cabela Drive near the Sheetz service station just off the Interstate 70 east off-ramp at The Highlands in Ohio County Wednesday evening, according to Lou Vargo, director of the Wheeling-Ohio County Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency.
Vargo said the crash occurred at approximately 7:19 p.m. Wednesday. The Ohio County medical examiner and Ohio County Sheriff's Department accident reconstruction team were also called to the scene, according to Vargo. He said the driver of the pickup truck was checked by EMS but refused any medical treatment. He said the crash was still under investigation and deputies were reconstructing the crash to determine the cause.
In addition to Ohio County Emergency Management and the Ohio County Sheriff's Department, Valley Grove and Triadelphia volunteer fire departments and EMS also responded.
