POWHATAN POINT -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol St. Clairsville Post is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Saturday in York Township.
The crash was reported at 10:52 a.m. Saturday near milepost 23 on Ohio 148.
A preliminary investigation indicates that Brian Robinson, 50, of Bridgeport was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle east on Ohio 148 when he left the right side of the roadway, struck the guardrail and was thrown from the motorcycle.
Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Robinson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
