Ohio County Schools Institute Mask Mandate ‘For At Least 30 Days’

The Ohio County Board of Education, in the face of rapidly increasing COVID-19 numbers in the county, voted Monday night to institute a mask mandate “for at least 30 days.” The vote was 4-1, with only board president David Croft voting against.
This reverses an earlier decision from the board that had it strongly recommending that staff and students wear masks, but not outright mandatoing it. COVID numbers have only gotten worse since then. Acccording to the Ohio County Schools COVID dashboard, there are 56 active cases within schools as of Monday — including 22 at Wheeling Park High and 16 at Warwood School.
