Charges have been filed against the suspect in a high-speed chase Wednesday night who jumped off Wheeling’s 10th Street garage at the chase’s end.
According to the Wheeling Police Department, Christopher Ott, 42, of Wheeling is being charged with felony fleeing and possession with intent to deliver by WPD. Additional charges from police in Ohio are possible. He remains at WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital in serious condition.
According to police, the Ohio Highway Patrol had stopped a vehicle Wednesday night to investigate a possible domestic violence situation. The suspect, Ott, drove off and led authorities on a high-speed chase into Wheeling.
The suspect then pulled into the third floor of the 10th Street Garage, ran to the top floor and, according to police, jumped off the garage.
The female passenger was not injured from the chase but was taken to the hospital to be evaluated from the earlier domestic situation.
