Ohio Valley residents enjoying the pleasant temperatures Friday afternoon are predicted to wake up Saturday underneath another thick blanket of snow.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory starting at 10 p.m. Friday and lasting until noon Saturday. The NWS expects the area to receive between 3 and 6 inches of snow between Friday night and Saturday morning. After a high temperature of 56 on Friday, the high on Saturday is only predicted to reach 26.

Wind gusts Saturday could reach as strong as 29 miles per hour. Snow will taper off and move out of the area as Saturday progresses.

Weather has ping-ponged between nice and nasty over the last couple of days. Snow smacked the region Wednesday morning, but had disappeared by Friday. The remnants of the coming storm likely won’t stick around for long. High temperatures of 41 on Sunday and 56 on Monday and Tuesday are forecast.
