Wheeling Park girls basketball player Zariah Marling finished with 3 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals in a win over Jefferson on Thursday in the Class AAAA state tournament.

CHARLESTON — The Wheeling Park girls’ basketball team broke Class AAAA records for most points scored, fewest points allowed, margin of victory and most turnovers caused in a WVVSSAC Class AAAA state tournament game Thursday as the Patriots rolled past Jefferson 70-19 inside the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center.
Wheeling Park dominated the second quarter, outscoring Jefferson 21-0 in the frame.
In the win, freshman Alexis Bordas recorded a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds, while fellow freshman Lala Woods turned in 14 points, eight assists, six steals and six rebounds.
Natalie Daugherty netted 13 points for the Patriots.
