WHEELING - There are times when a woman just wants to look "fancy," even when running an obstacle course challenge.
"Team Fancy Pants" turned out for the Ogden Newspapers Tough As Nails Urban Challenge on Sunday - bedazzled in pink and sporting animal prints and a positive attitude.
The group was comprised of women who work out during sessions at Grand Vue Park in Moundsville and encourage each other.
They have fun and laugh, but there is also some work and fitness involved in their socializing. Members of the group said they range in age from 35 to 70.
Sunday's fitness test seemed a good time for them to get together.
"We're just a group of friends who work out, and they convinced me to come because I just can't say no," said Sarah Donley of Bethesda.
Their training takes on all forms of exercise. One is a jazzercise instructor, while another teaches taekwondo.
"We do everything to stay in shape and events on the weekends," said Lori Dobrovich of Bridgeport.
She said the group did not do much more than their daily training as they prepared for the Tough As Nails.
"We take our time, and if anyone needs help, we help them," Dobrovich added. "We're looking to have fun - and for the drink tickets!" she quipped.
