The City of Wheeling announced Wednesday afternoon that its municipal offices at 1500 Chapline St. will reopen for business at 8:30 a.m. today. The offices had been closed Tuesday and Wednesday due to power outages from the severe storms that ripped through the area.
The city also announced that municipal court hearings that were scheduled for Tuesday had been postponed for two weeks.
Also, city crews will be going around Wheeling collecting trash and debris from neighborhoods, but are asking for residents' help.
Tree limbs, branches and the like should be separated from other types of storm debris and not combined with the household garbage. The debris can be placed curbside in an area where there is no parking or where weekly trash is placed for pickup. City crews will continue picking up debris until it is no longer necessary.
