Bids received for Wheeling Streetscape project; $31.9 million low bid

WHEELING — Triton Construction Inc. of St. Albans, West Virginia, has submitted the low bid of three received at 10:01 a.m. today for the Downtown Wheeling Streetscape project.
Triton’s bid came in at $31.9 million, slightly higher than the project’s $30 million original estimate.
Swank Construction of New Kensington, Pennsylvania, which is doing the Interstate 70 Bridges project, submitted a bid of $35.86 million while Ohio-West Virginia Excavating’s bid came in at $37.2 million.
Now that bids are open they can be reviewed. The Streetscape Project is scheduled to start this year and end by the December 2024.
