Officers from the Wheeling Police Department investigated a double-fatal crash involving a single vehicle that slammed into the side of the Main Street Bridge over Wheeling Creek near the 16th Street intersection Thursday evening. Investigators photographed the scene from the ground and from the air utilizing a police drone.

The West Virginia Medical Examiners Office has identified the two people in last week’s fatal single-vehicle crash in downtown Wheeling, the Wheeling Police Department announced Friday.

The driver of the vehicle was 65-year-old Bruce Baldi and 66-year-old Diana Baldi was the passenger. Both were from Martins Ferry, Ohio.

The exact cause of the crash is unknown, as the incident remains under investigation by police.
