WHEELING — City police arrested a Wheeling man Wednesday evening on charges including burglary, being.a fugitive from justice and possessing a firearm illegally.
Police said they were called to the 100 block of Virginia Street on Wheeling Island around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on a matter involving a firearm. According to officers, after arrival and investigation, they arrested 32-year-old Aaron Dwayne Payne of Wheeling on the charges.
Payne was transported Wednesday to the Northern Regional Jail in Moundsville.
