MOUNDSVILLE - Those wanting to be the next 2nd Judicial Circuit judge have less than a month to submit their application.
The Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill the judicial vacancy created by the resignation of Judge David W. Hummel Jr. in the 2nd Judicial Circuit Court serving Marshall, Wetzel, and Tyler Counties.
Candidates must submit their completed applications and letters of recommendation or comment no later than 5 p.m. on Jan. 9, 2023. Applications will not be received after this time.
Applications must be submitted either via email to JVAC@wv.gov, or by mail to Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission, c/o Office of the General Counsel to the Governor, Office of the Governor, State Capitol, 1900 Kanawha Boulevard East, Charleston, WV 25305.

Interviews are scheduled to take place in Charleston on Jan. 18.
The person selected as judge will succeed Hummel, who resigned Nov. 23.
