Traffic alert: 16th St. between Main and Market Streets to close beginning Monday

The intersection of 16th and Main Streets is shown Friday afternoon in Wheeling. A stormwater pipe replacement project starting Monday on 16th Street between Main and Market Streets calls for that section of street to be closed for several days this month.

As part of the Downtown Streetscape Project in Wheeling, 16th Street will be closed between Main Street and Market Street beginning Monday, May 1, to place a 60-inch stormwater pipe. The closure will last approximately seven weeks.
Alternate routes will be 14th Street to Chapline Street to 16th Street, and 20th Street to Chapline Street to 16th Street. Detours will be posted.
Traffic delays should be expected. Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could alter the project schedule.
