WHEELING -- There are six Ohio County residents who want to represent District 4 in the West Virginia House of Delegates.
Candidates wanting to apply for the seat vacated by former Delegate Erikka Storch, R-Ohio, had until 5 p.m. Friday to send letters of interest and their resumes to the Ohio County Republican Executive Committee.
The following submitted their letters of intent prior to the Friday deadline, according to information provided by West Virginia GOP Chair Elgine McArdle and Ohio County GOP Chair Carlee Dittmar.
– Robert Coram, a pharmacist;
– David Gaudino, a teacher and career counselor for Marshall County Schools;
– Libby Reasbeck, past district director for former U.S. Rep. David B. McKinley, R-W.Va.;
– Dolph Santorine, a businessman, past delegate candidate and current member of the Ohio County GOP executive committee;
– Amy Wade, a farmer who lives on Dallas Pike;
– Diana Winzenreid, a digital marketing agency owner and marketing consultant.
The committee plans to meet in private sometime on Wednesday, according to Dittmar. The meeting will not be open to the public.
Three names will be selected from among the candidates to send on Gov. Jim Justice, who will appoint one of them to the vacant seat.
The appointment by the governor must come within 30 days of Storch's official resignation on May 19, or June 18.
The unexpired term for the District 4 delegate seat is over at the end of 2024.
Storch recently announced she would resign from the House of Delegates after accepting a job as external affairs manager at Appalachian Power.
