West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice Has Gallbladder Removed

Gov. Jim Justice criticized a bank's attempt at having his wages garnished to cover a personal loan guarantee, calling it "political grandstanding."

CHARLESTON ­­– West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice had his gallbladder surgically removed, according to a news release from the governor’s office late Monday.

According to the release, Justice had a “sudden flare-up” Thursday evening, despite never having gallbladder problems before. In consulting with doctors, they said it would be best for Justice to have the organ removed.

Justice underwent “routine and successful surgery” Monday afternoon.

“Gov. Justice is currently resting well, in good spirits, and anxious to get back to work serving the great people of West Virginia,” the release stated.
