One Arrested In Tiltonsville On Charges Of Inducing Panic

By From STAFF REPORTS 1 min read

Law enforcement officers from across Belmont County joined the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department in making an arrest in Tiltonsville late Tuesday afternoon.

Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla Jr. said the individual involved was wanted on a Belmont County warrant for inducing panic. He said the person had been making videos about killing police officers. Abdalla added that when apprehended, the person had ballistic vests, multiple rifles and other potentially dangerous equipment in their possession.

Police cruisers from the Belmont County Sheriff's Department and the Barnesville, St. Clairsville, Bellaire and Shadyside police departments were parked at an apparent staging area in Rayland. The officers who had arrived in those cruisers apparently traveled from there to the scene in Tiltonsville with a special response team from Jefferson County and were later seen returning to their cruisers and packing up their gear. They appeared to be heavily armed upon their return.

Abdalla referred all other questions to Belmont County Chief Deputy James Zusack, who was not immediately available for comment.
