Public safety officials from multiple departments searched the Ohio River for several hours Tuesday, looking for a person who jumped off the Moundsville Bridge.
Moundsville Police Chief Tom Mitchell confirmed that someone had jumped off the bridge late Tuesday afternoon. Marshall County Sheriff Bill Helms said his office was called in to assist shortly before 4 p.m. Several rescue boats joined the search.
No further information was available Tuesday night. A dispatcher at the Moundsville Police Department said more details would be made available this morning.
