A major sewer separation is taking place on 16th and Market streets in Wheeling as part of the West Virginia Division of Highways’ long-awaited Downtown Streetscape Project.

Wheeling’s 16th Street is scheduled to reopen to traffic Thursday, according to the West Virginia Department of Highways. The street had been closed due to work with the Downtown Streetscape Project.
The plan, according to DOH is for the street to reopen Thursday afternoon. Inclement weather or unforseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
Market Street will remain closed to through traffic between 14th and 16th streets. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect delays.
