Two Arrested Following WPD Call Over Fight, Gunshot Fired

Two people were arrested early Wednesday morning and are facing criminal charges by the Wheeling Police Department following a call about a fight and a gunshot fired.

Brittany Lea Foster, 36, of Wheeling is charged with being a prohibited person from possessing a firearm and possession with intent to deliver. Roland Nathaniel Copney, 35, of Wheeling is facing charges of wanton endangerment and possession with intent to deliver, according to a WPD release.

Around 1:40 a.m., officers were called to the 200 block of South Broadway Street on Wheeling Island for an alleged fight between two people and a single gunshot being heard inside an apartment. Police spoke to those involved and detained several individuals to investigate. No one was hurt during the incident.

A search warrant was then obtained for the apartment, where officers located a large amount of illegal drugs, ammunition and one spent shell casing.
