Ohio County GOP Holds Candidate Forum

WHEELING -- More than two dozen candidates for local, state and federal offices, and their representatives, congregated Thursday at the Wheeling Country Club for a candidates' forum sponsored by the Ohio County Republican Executive Committee.
Committee Vice Chair Bob Luchetti was pleased with the turnout of candidates and felt Thursday's forum was an important one to hold.
"This is probably going to be the most important election that we have in probably the next several election cycles," Luchetti said. "And we wanted to make sure that people had the opportunity to hear what the different candidates had to say, so that they can make informed decisions when it comes time to make their vote."
Each candidate had three minutes to offer their words to the audience.
Candidates that made an appearance Thursday included Del. Diana Winzenreid, R-Ohio, Del. Jimmy Willis, R-Brooke, District 4 Delegate candidate Bill Flanigan, District 5 Delegate candidate Thomas Salkovick, Intermediate Court of Appeals candidates Mychal Schulz and Elgine McArdle, State Sen. Ryan Weld, R-Brooke, State Sen. District 1 candidate Scott Adams, U.S. Senate candidate Bryant McKinney, Ohio County Sheriff candidate Nelson Croft, Wheeling City Councilmen Jerry Sklavounakis and Dave Palmer, Wheeling mayoral candidates J.T. Thomas, Beth Hinebaugh and Denny Magruder, First Judicial Circuit Judge Ron Wilson, First Judicial Circuit Judge candidate Joe Barki and Magistrate candidates Roger Bise and Charlie Murphy.
Representatives of U.S. Rep. Alex Mooney, candidate for U.S. Senate, gubernatorial candidate Moore Capito, Del. Eric Householder, R-Berkeley, a candidate for State Auditor and Secretary of State Ken Reed also appeared.
