Crews paved the west lane of Main Street in Wheeling as part of the ongoing Downtown Streetscape Project on Monday. Officials from the West Virginia Division of Highways said striping of the newly paved portion and resurfacing of some side streets will take place this week, and paving of the eastern lane of Main Street will begin the week of July 8. The new pavement on one main downtown traffic artery marks a milestone in the $35 million project, which will soon see crews shift the primary focus toward work on Market Street and the connecting streets downtown.
