WEIRTON -- Police continue their investigation into a Saturday morning fatal shooting in downtown Weirton.
Jordan Lee Pager, 32, is currently being held without bond in Northern Regional Jail on a charge of first-degree murder, according to information on the West Virginia Regional Jail Authority website.
Taylor M. Albert, 30, was found dead with a gunshot wound after officers responded to a call at 3025 Elm St. at approximately 4:50 a.m. Saturday, according to information released by Police Chief Charlie Kush.
Officers were called to the scene for a report of a medical call, and, upon arrival, reported witnessing Pager walking from the residence, yelling at ambulance personnel while holding a handgun.
Pager was confronted by law enforcement, who ordered him to drop the gun. When Pager did not comply, the report states, officers subdued him using a Taser.
The investigation found no one else inside the residence.
Kush said the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges could be filed.
The Weirton Police Department was assisted by the West Virginia State Police and Hancock County Ambulance.
