Nini’s Treasures, a clothing and accessories boutique at The Highlands, celebrated new ownership with a ribbon cutting Wednesday morning.
The new owner, Ingrid Loy, took over when founder Nini Zadrozny was ready to retire after over 29 years of business.
“I’m really excited. This has kind of been a dream come true for me, so I’m very excited about it,” Loy said.
Zadrozny started the business as a side hustle, selling handmade jewelry before eventually opening the original brick-and-mortar store at Stratford Springs in Wheeling. Now, it is located at The Highlands near Triadelphia and sells clothing, accessories, shoes, bags and some baby clothing.
Loy said she will be preserving Nini’s vision but adding some new brands and “flair.”
“Because it’s Nini’s Treasures and she’s built an amazing brand, we’re keeping all the brands that everyone is so used to,” Loy said. “We’re keeping our Brighton, we’re keeping our Pandora, we’re keeping our Hobo … but we’re also gonna put a little bit of a new spin on things.”
In preparation for the holidays, staff members decked out the store in holiday decor and clothing. Loy said they want to make sure customers reach that “aha” moment of finding the right gifts for friends and family.
“When you find that perfect gift and your customer finds that perfect gift they just light up. So we’re helping them find that gift, making it easy for them so they’re not stressed about it,” she said.
The store is offering free gift wrapping and flair such as holiday bows.
Nini’s also hosted a holiday party Wednesday night as a thank you to loyal customers, Loy said. There were several giveaways, snacks, drinks and hundreds of new pieces in stock for the event.
