Oglebay Good Zoo Introducing Lion Habitat In 2026

Oglebay Park’s Good Zoo is bringing lions to town starting in 2026.
The zoo will become the first accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums in the country to offer guests an opportunity to get up close and personal with lions in a natural environment. The Good Zoo will build a new 20,000-square-foot lion habitat and management facility, which will be one of the largest of its kind in the eastern United States and the only one in West Virginia.
Guests also will have the chance to elevate their experience as three exclusive cottages will be built on-site, offering guests a front-row seat to the action. Guests staying at the Base Camp Villas will be able to embark on a true safari tour, enjoy daily lion encounters, explore the zoo on night tours, and indulge in dining options and comfortable in-room amenities.
