Competition began Wednesday at the Highlands Athletics Complex in the VEX Robotics Gateway to the West competition run by Ohio County Schools. Hundreds of middle school students from 16 states and Canada took part in the first day of the two-day tournament. A high school tournament follows on Friday and Saturday.
