MOUNDSVILLE — City of Moundsville leaders expect to learn next week the latest anticipated move-in date for the new municipal and safety building
During city council’s regular meeting this week, Moundsville City Manager Rick Healy gave members an update on the building project.
“We did have a progress meeting today and, at that meeting, we decided we would have a special virtual meeting next Tuesday to review the newest schedule that the contractors are preparing and the updated substantial completion date,” Healy said.
“After that meeting we will have a better idea of how the current date will be extended and how far.”
Healy said the completion date will be extended past Oct. 31, but by how much he will not know until after the meeting with the project’s contractors.
Meanwhile, work continues on the building that will serve as both the city offices and the fire and police headquarters.
“The permanent power was connected last week to the building. The water installation is complete; there is now water into the mechanical room,” he said.
“The three-week look ahead schedule presented this morning includes installation of drain lines, duct work, continued electrical work, installation of window frames, temporary window infill, data drop installations and gas line installation and connection.”
