Section of W.Va. 88 in Marshall County set to close for several weeks

WHEELING — Residents traveling W.Va. 88 through Marshall County, take note: the West Virginia Division of Highways will close a section of the roadway each day starting Sept. 22 through early October to repair a slip.

The affected section is near Sherrard, just past the highway’s intersection with W.Va. 86. The road, according to the DOH, will be closed daily from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. School buses and emergency vehicles will be able to pass, but other vehicles — including large trucks servicing the natural gas industry — will have to use alternate routes.

Those alternate routes include using U.S. 250 to W.Va. 2 in Moundsville or using W.Va. 86 to W.Va. 2 in Glen Dale.

Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.

Starting at $2.99/week.
