Update: Arrest Made In Wheeling Island Stabbing Incident

A woman has been arrested in connection with a Thursday morning stabbing incident on Wheeling Island, according to the Wheeling Police Department.
Deandra Dawn McCann, 61, of Wheeling, was arrested and charged with two counts of malicious wounding. She was arraigned by Ohio County Magistrate Kevin Stryker, who set bond at $3,000, and was taken to jail.
The two victims -- a man and a woman who were both known to the suspect -- were transported to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital. They are expected to recover from their injuries.

Two people were injured and one person was detained following a stabbing incident Thursday morning on Wheeling Island.
According to Wheeling Police Department spokesman Philip Stahl, officers arrived around 9:45 a.m. to Ohio Street, where they found a man and a woman stabbed. Both were taken to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital with serious injuries, but Stahl said both victims were in stable condition.
A woman has been detained in the incident, Stahl added. Charges had not yet been filed as of Thursday morning. WPD officers continue to investigate the situation, but there are no other safety concerns for the neighborhood.
