BELLAIRE — One person is dead and another is in custody following a Thursday night shooting in Bellaire.

Belmont County Coroner Amanda Fisher confirmed one male fatality and that an autopsy is already being scheduled.

Fisher said that the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation Criminal Investigation Unit and Bellaire Police Department were both on scene alongside the coroner’s Office.

According to published reports, the shooting took place in the 600 block of 44th Street.

The investigation remains ongoing.
