House Minority Whip Shawn Fluharty, D-Ohio, argues that the Riley Gaines Act would continue to push young people away from West Virginia.
Del. Shawn Fluharty wants to stay in Charleston as part of the West Virginia Legislature, but wants to change chambers.
Fluharty, D-Ohio announced Friday morning on “The Howard Monroe Show” that he will run for West Virginia Senate and the seat currently held by Sen. Laura Wakim Chapman, R-Ohio.
Fluharty, the minority whip in the House of Delegates, is a six-term delegate, having first won in 2014.
Chapman also faces a primary opponent this year in businessman Joe Eddy.
