Bellaire Coach Arrested On 11 Counts Of Pandering Obscenity Involving A Minor
BELLAIRE – Longtime Bellaire track coach and educator Shawn Valloric was arrested Thursday and faces child pornography charges.
Belmont County Prosecutor Kevin Flanagan confirmed Valloric’s arrest on 11 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, but said he could not comment on the matter until the investigation report “is received and reviewed” by his office. Flanagan also confirmed that Valloric was arrested on school grounds by the Belmont County Sheriff Office.
Video of Valloric’s arrest at Bellaire High School was circulating on social media by Thursday evening and his mugshot along with a full list of charges appeared on the Belmont County Sheriff’s website. According to that website, Valloric is awaiting arraignment.
Details are forthcoming as Belmont County James Zusack said a press release on Valloric’s arrest would be issued today.
Valloric has been the head track and field coach at Belliare for nearly twenty, taking over the program in 2008. He is also listed as a teacher for Bellaire Local Schools.
Pandering obscenity involving a minor is typically classified as a second-degree felony under Ohio Revised Code and punishable by up to eight years in prison and $15,000 in fines. It involves producing, publishing, or possessing obscene material depicting minors.
