W.Va. 2 has been reopened, according to the Wheeling Police Department.

A hillside slip near Gumby’s has rendered W.Va. 2 between downtown Wheeling and Warwood impassable Thursday afternoon, according to the Wheeling Police Department. The road is closed in both directions.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area through the evening hours. If getting to Warwood from Wheeling, and vice versa, is necessary, motorists can use Ohio 7 and cross at the Wellsburg Bridge.
