The walls continue to come down at the old Clay School in East Wheeling, as Raze International crews have been working on its demolition. The school had been a hub of that community for decades before closing in the 1990s. As heavy equipment knocked down those walls, bits of the building’s history like colorful wall murals could be found, serving as a reminder of what that building once was. City officials said the project would take about five months to complete.
