Suspect In Wheeling Malicious Assault Case Arrested

A Wheeling man accused of malicious assault has been arrested and is now in the Northern Regional Jail, Wheeling Police Department spokesman Philip Stahl said Monday morning.

Gary Hackathorn, 40, is in jail on one count of felony malicious assault, according to the West Virginia magistrate database. His bond was set at $50,000.

Hackathorn allegedly stabbed someone on April 15 in the 2300 block of Market Street. The victim was transported to Wheeling Hospital and treated for a non-life-threatening injury.
