WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital was put on temporary precautionary lockdown Wednesday night, according to a post on the hospital’s Facebook page.

The lockdown was put in place “out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and visitors. All patient care services remain fully operational, and our team continues to provide care without interruption.”

The hospital said it would share updates on the situation “when appropriate.”
