5K Walker John Johnson Joining In on Family Tradition

WHEELING - Bethlehem resident John Johnson was joining in on his relatives' longtime tradition of enjoying the Ogden Newspapers Wellness Weekend presented by WVU Medicine on Saturday.
Johnson said it was going to be his first time doing the 5K Walk presented by Bordas & Bordas with his sister-in-law Becky Johnson, while his brother Robert Johnson was going to run.
"They live in Charlotte, North Carolina, now, but they do it every year," he said.
He noted his brother is originally from Wheeling and his sister-in-law is from St. Clairsville. Though they have lived in North Carolina for about 20 years, they make a point of coming back each spring for the race.
"So far it's pretty fun," Johnson said of the atmosphere near the start/finish line. "People seem to be excited to be here to run in the morning."
