Jeff Davis captured a seat on the Tyler County Commission, defeating Steven Weigle on Tuesday in the Republican primary. There was no Democratic candidate, so Davis will advance.

Davis, a lifelong Tyler County resident, recently retired as treasurer and chief school business officer for the Tyler County Board of Education. His previous roles included Chief Financial Officer at Sistersville General Hospital and Operations Officer at Union Bank in Sistersville.

All three levies on the ballot in Tyler County passed. The fire levy passed 1,315-573, while the Tyler County Schools levy passed 1,035-855 and the EMS levy passed 1,222-665.

In the Board of Education race, all three candidates ran unopposed and earned seats on the board — Katrina Byers, Trad Dill and Scott Strode.
