WHEELING - Husband and wife Cody Cawthon and Stormi Cawthon, planned on conquering Tough as Nails Urban Challenge presented by The Health Plan on Sunday.

The couple from Elkins recruited their friend Carlise Ayers from Philippi to join in the fun.

Cody said that he has competed in obstacle courses such as Tough Mudder and various 5K races before but not in Tough As Nails.

He is a resident physician at Wheeling Hospital and Stormi works in the hospital’s education department.

Stormi said that she convinced the trio to compete in the event with Ayers replying "sure, why not."

Cody said that he was looking forward to climbing the rope. He joked that he hasn't climbed a rope since at least high school and wants to see if he still had it. Ayers and Stormi agreed that they were both looking forward to the pool part of the course so they can cool off.

Cody said that he was least looking forward to falling into the pool, while Stormi and Ayers said they are least looking forward to climbing the rope and all of the stairs the course requires to climb.

The trio dressed in bright tye-dye outfits in hopes to be able to find their pictures posted on the 48th annual Ogden Newspapers Wellness Weekend presented by WVU Medicine's website.
